welcome to distance Fútbol presented by open goal project
since 2015, Open Goal Project has served high-level soccer programming, mentorship and academic support, and fitness, nutrition, and other enrichment sessions to more than 2,000 young soccer players from DC and beyond in various ways, facilitating high-level growth opportunities by offering professionally run clinics and camps, as well as higher-education programs to players, completely free of charge. our unique model focuses on eliminating the barriers that have traditionally kept players from low-income families and underserved communities off the field, and targets the gaps that they face off the field to reaching their full potential as soccer players and as young adults. by offering completely free programs as well as professional coaches and bilingual leaders, we make our programs accessible to players who were previously kept on the sidelines.
Distance Fútbol by Open Goal Project online classroom contains learning and enrichment tools and technical training developed by Open Goal Project Executive Director Amir Lowery, a former Major League Soccer player and USSF B Licensed coach.
our curriculum is aimed at using soccer as a vehicle for education and comprehension and our training sessions can be accomplished in any living space. although we can’t practice as a group, we can always find innovative ways to become better students of the beautiful game.
